Scythe CPU Heatsinks

    Scythe is a company that makes parts for computers. It was started in Tokyo Japan. It also has offices in Northern California. Scythe makes a number of different CPU heatsinks.

When you run your computer it creates a great deal of heat. This heat needs to be dissipated so your computer can keep running. Heatsinks are generally made of a Aluminum Alloy and they usually have fins.

A passive heatsink is one that does not have a fan. A heatsink that has a fan is called a active heatsink. With the active heatsink you can get different models where the fan blows either side to side, or up and down. You can also get one that does both.

Their is also a water cooled heatsink. The advantages of using this type is that it does not make as much noise. It can also cool many different components at the same time. The one big disadvantage of using this type of heatsink is that if it starts to leak you can damage your computer.
